Project “First stage of the reverse of the “Kenkiyak-Atyrau” oil pipeline section with a capacity of up to 6 million tons per year”

Project goal:

The project “First stage of the reverse of the “Kenkiyak-Atyrau” oil pipeline with a capacity of up to 6 million tons per year is one of the stages of construction and development of the Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline system”. Its commissioning will allow up to 6 million tons of oil per year to be transported in the reverse direction from the Western Kazakh fields to the Pavlodar and Shymkent oil refineries and for export to China via the Atasu-Alashankou pipeline and by rail tank cars from the Shagyr oil terminal.

 

The task:

Construction of the Aman oil pumping station (OPS) in the Kenkiyak-Atyrau region.

 

What has been done:

Since June 2020, EPC carried out welding and installation works of the process pipeline with stop valves, tanks and steel structures on the Kenkiyak-Atyrau oil pipe-line section, with a capacity of up to 6000000 tons per year.
The company has its own funds, so it is independent of loans from banks or customers, which allows to start working immediately after the set tasks.
Distinctive features: EPC adheres to American standards, where each employee is tested for professional aptitude. Specialists are given instructions, which are not only strictly adhered to, but also necessarily added to with every new project.
More than 150 specialists with more than 10 years of experience were involved in the construction. Welders with the highest category – 6 category and NAKS certificates, confirming professionalism and quality of work performed. During the whole project 12 000 joints were welded.
The hallmark of the company is a three-stage quality control: visual assessment of the customer, application and control of the technical inspector, the final stage – the analysis and testing in the company’s own laboratory.
Also during the performance of works were used welding apparatuses Miller. Miller ranks first among the most popular devices for welding from a direct U.S. manufacturer. Innovative solutions of the developers allow the device to operate in a wide range of input current values. In addition, the device has a built-in operating mode of the cooling system and a special protection against contamination.
The EPC has been quality-tested by the international company “BIVI”, which is responsible for technical regulation and standardization.

 

Result:

Despite the tight deadlines, the professional and detailed approach made it possible to perform the work within the deadline set by the customer (3 months), in accordance with international standards and technical regulations.
